Beas Kund is one of the most picturesque and mesmerizing treks in the Dauladhar range around Manali. The destination of the trek – Beas Kund, is a sacred lake from where the river Beas originates surrounded by magnificent mountainscapes. Legend has it that the great Sage Vyas who penned the epic Mahabharata is said to have meditated here. The trek offers panoramic views of the Pir Panjal range, Dauladhar range, Seven Sisters and Hanuman Tibba Peaks. Beas Kund is also the base camp for trekkers attempting summits like Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, Ladakhi Peak, Shitidhar Peak, Tentu Pass(4995m) and Bara Bangal Trek. A paradise to behold at every stretch of the trek!

Trek Itinerary :

Day 1: Manali-Solang Valley:
Arrive in Manali at 8am. Drive to Solang Nala Base Camp, 13 kms and an hours drive from Manali. Day at Leisure, acclimatize and overnight.

Day 2: Solang-Dhundi-Bakkar Thach (10800 ft/ 6 kms/ 4 hrs)
Post breakfast, drive to Dhundi (9000 ft/ 9 kms) a beautiful pasture covered with carpets of blooming wild flowers. Start trekking up a gradual incline along the gurgling Beas surrounded by alluring pine forests. Maneuver across multiple water crossings and arrive at a beautiful alpine meadow lined with bright blooming rhododendrons. The 360 degree panoramic views dotted with thousands of calmly grazing sheep seem straight out of a picture postcard! Revel in the magnificent views of the Pir Panjal range, Dauladhar range, Seven Sisters Peaks and Hanuman Tibba Peak. Trek further on to the scenic high altitude pastures of Bakkar Thach meaning ‘resting place of the shepherd’. Explore nature’s exotic campsite and laze around the gurgling streams. Enjoy a campfire at sundown. Dont forget to gaze at the the brilliantly starlit sky later in the night. Overnight in tents.

Day 3: Bakkar Thach-Ridge-Moraine-Beas Kund-Return to Bakkar Thach (11500 ft/ 3 kms/ 3 Hours & return)
Wake up to a brilliant golden glow on the peak of Hanuman Tibba at sunrise. Post breakfast start trek to Beas Kund. Walk up a glacier to a moderately steep trail, dotted with birch trees, leading to the ridge. Revel in the magnificent views of Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, Shitidhar and Ladakhi peaks. Next trekkers have to make their way across the moraine. Maneuver across numerous boulders strewn over a glacier and reach the open glaciers expanse of the Beas Kund Parikrama. Walk down to the origin of the river Beas. Walk up to the waterfall or up a glacier. Enjoy a packed lunch and trek back to Bakkar Thach. Overnight in tents.

Day 4: Bakkar Thach-Dhundi-Solang Valley/Manali
Post breakfast trek back to Dhundi with a heart full of memories. Return by vehicle to Solang base camp. Overnight at Solang or directly depart by bus to Delhi.

Day 5: Solang Valley-Manali-Depart for Delhi
Drive to Manali. Day at leisure for local sightseeing. Depart for Delhi in the evening by bus/car.
