Tirthan_600 WMDay 1:

If you drive from Delhi early morning, you will reach Tirthan by evening (12 Hrs drive). Check into your Hotel/homestay/ guesthouse and just relax for  the evening. Have an early dinner and retire to bed.

If you drive overnight from Delhi and reach Tirthan in the morning, you would require at least 7 Hours of sleep to beat the travel fatigue. Check in to your guesthouse/ homestay and relax for the day. Take a stroll down to the Tirthan River around tea-time. Enjoy a bonfire, have dinner and retire early for the night.

Day 2: After Breakfast, take a packed lunch, and trek to a waterfall from Nagini village through golden fields and serene alpine forests. The area will be mostly isolated, so take a guide with you. Local kids will happily accompany you for a small fee and are treasure chests of information about the local flora and fauna. Don’t forget your camera! On your return, enjoy a leisurely tea and spend some time at the river banks. Enjoy a bonfire and BBQ dinner.

Bathad Drive_600 WMDay 3: After an early breakfast, trek to the entrance of the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP). On return you can prepare to check out. Post an early lunch start on your return journey and reach Delhi by midnight.

In case you are staying another day, then post lunch, go for a lovely drive upto Bathaad village, the last village on this route. Sit around in a local teashop and enjoy a hot cuppa and steaming samosas.

Serolskar Lake_600 WM
Serolskar Lake, Jalori Pass (Himachal Pradesh)

Day 4: Leave early and drive on an incredible 30 kilometers journey via the picture postcard hamlets of Banjar, Jibhi and Shoja to Jalori Pass (3140 m). Jalori Pass is covered with snow from December till mid-April and is closed to traffic. The road is steep from Shringpur upto the pass. If you plan to trek to Serolsar Lake, then from Jalori turn into the dirt road on the left and drive further to the nature camp site. Vehicles cannot go beyond this point and have to be parked here. From here, its a 5 kms (2 hours) trek to Serolsar Lake.

Walk through dense forests of Oak, Pine and Fir trees. The trek offers great views of the Seraj valley. There is a small temple near the lake. There are 2-3 small makeshift shacks at Serolsar Lake. Remember to carry water, caps, camera and chocolate bars to energize you enroute.

Place your order while driving upto the Pass and so that the food is ready on return.

From Jalori Pass, you have the option of driving ahead to Delhi with an overnight stay at Jalori Pass/ Shoja/ Narkanda and a second night halt at Jabli/Kasauli (NH22). Visit Shimla Enroute.
