Bread Pakoda Recipe

Ingredients For  Bread Pakoda

12 Bread Slices – cut in half
Oil for Frying

For the Batter:
Besan (Gram Flour) -1 cup
Ajwain (Carom Seeds) – 1/4 Tsp
Red Chilli Powder- 1/4 Tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 Tsp
Cumin Powder – 1/4 Tsp
Chat Masala – 1/2 Tsp
Baking Powder – 1 pinch
Salt to Taste
Water- 1 Cup

For the Filling:
Onion – 1 cup chopped
Potato – 3 Large boiled, peeled & mashed
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 Tsp
Garam Masala- 1/4 Tsp
Coriander Powder – 1/2 Tsp
Cumin Powder – 1/2 Tsp
Amchur (Dry Mango) Powder – 1/4 Tsp
Chat Masala – 1/2 Tsp
Red Chilli Powder- 1/2 Tsp
Green Chillies – 4 finely chopped
Ginger – 1 inch chopped
Garlic Cloves – 6 chopped
Juice of 1 Lemon
Salt to Taste

Oil for Frying

Method of Preparation:

To make the batter,  take a mixing bowl and add :

Besan (Gram Flour) – 1 cup
Ajwain (Carrom Seeds) – 1/4 Tsp
Red Chilli Powder- 1/4 Tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 Tsp
Cumin Powder – 1/4 Tsp
Salt to Taste
Baking Powder – 1 pinch
Chat Masala – 1/2 Tsp

Mix ingredients well with a spoon. Add water and make a smooth paste. Batter should be slightly thick.

To make the Potato filling, take a large bowl and add:

Onion – 1 cup chopped
Potato – 3 Large boiled, peeled & mashed
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 Tsp
Garam Masala- 1/2 Tsp
Coriander Powder – 1/2 Tsp
Cumin Powder – 1/2 Tsp
Amchur (Dry Mango) Powder – 1/4 Tsp
Chat Masala – 1/2 Tsp
Red Chilli Powder- 1/2 Tsp
Green Chillies – 4 chopped
Ginger – 1 inch chopped
Garlic Cloves – 6 chopped
Juice of 1 Lemon
Salt to Taste

Mix all the ingredients in the bowl well.
Potato filling is ready.

Next take half a slice of bread and spread a thick layer of Potato filling.
Cover it with another half a slice of bread to make a triangle shaped sandwich.

Now Spread the filling on a few more bread slices.

Heat oil in a pan for frying.

Dip a potato sandwich in the batter. Coat it with batter on both sides.

Put it in the hot oil for frying

Coat another sandwich with the batter and put it in oil for frying.

Fry till the Bread Pakoda turns golden brown then flip it to over to the other side.Fry the other side also till golden brown.

Tap to drain excess oil and remove the Bread Pakoda on a paper towel.
Delicious Bread Pakoda is ready!
Serve it hot will Tomato or Red Chilli Sauce.
