Rasam Recipe

Rasam is a tangy and mildly spiced delicious tomato-lentil soup from South India. The spiced aromatic goodness of a warm bowl of Rasam will warm you up on the coldest of days. Rasam is can be eaten as a soup or with steamed Rice, Idli, Dosa etc. Here’s a secret tip – Medu Vada tastes ten notches better when dipped in a bowl of steaming hot Rasam !

 

Ingredients Seasoning:
  • Arhar Dal – ½ Cup
  • Tamarind – 1 Tbsp.
  • Coriander Leaves – ½ Cup Chopped
  • White Urad Dal – 1 Cup
  • Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
  • Red Chili Powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt – To Taste
  • Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
  • Rasam Powder – 2 Tbsp.
  • Sugar – ¼ tsp

 

 

  • Ghee (Clarified Butter) – 1Tbsp.
  • Curry Leaves – 7-8
  • Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
  • Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
  • Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
