Pavana Dam is built on the Pavana lake near the Pavananagar village. It is the main source of water for the PCMC area in Pune. This picturesque locale is a great place for a day out during monsoons.
The drive to Pavana through lush green fields, gurgling streams, quaint villages is extremely refreshing. Hordes of small waterfalls cascade down the hill sides. Young and old alike have a wonderful time playing in the waterfalls and small streams. Pavana is flanked by the hill forts of Lohagad, Tikona and Tung on three sides.
Boating and water sports activities are conducted on the Pavana Lake at the Lohagad Boat Club near the dam. It tends to get crowded during the monsoon weekends. The restaurant offers hot meals. Ample parking space is available.
