Kunzum La or Kunzum Pass is a high mountain pass at an altitude of 4550m. It is located in the Kunzum range and connects the valleys of Lahaul and Spiti. Travellers are treated to spectacular views of the manificent Shigri Peak from the pass.
It is one of the highest motorable mountain passes at 4550m. Kunzum Pass is closed during the winter months due to heavy snow fall from November to June every year cutting off Lahaul and Spiti from the rest of the world. Goddess Kunzum is revered as the guardian of the pass and protector of travelers passing through.
