Kiarighat is a small village at an altitude of 1750m and it situated on NH22, the Parwanoo-Shimla National Highway. It is a good option for a night halt while travelling to or from Shimla which is 22 kms away or if travelling to Kinnaur. It is a beautiful, calm and serene place and perfect for a stay if you wish to avoid staying at the more crowded Shimla.

Climate in Kiarighat:
Winter: The temperature dips to between 5 °C – 15 °C during winters. Heavy woollen clothing is required during winters.
Summer: 15°C – 30°C. Summers are pleasant but the sun could be a little scorching during the day. Light cotton and woollens are recommended.
What to See in Kiarighat
Maharaja’s Palace: Ancient place of historical importance. Offers breathtaking views of the hills around.
Dagshai (9 kms): This is small picturesque town is perched at an altitude of 1925m covered by pine trees. This previously was a British cantonment from 1847. Visit the St. Patricks Church, military public school, military barracks and the Dagshai Heritage Museum which earlier was the Dagshai Central Jail. It is 7kms from Barog. It can be reached via Dharampur or Kumarhatti.
Solan (11 kms): It is a small town located right on the NH22. One can visit the Shalooni Devi temple, Mohan Park, Jawahar Park, Central State Library, Mall road. The Shiva temple at Jatoli is located 7kms away on Solan – Rajgarh road. Solan also has a very old brewery and distillery which was established in 1855.
